FusionHealth® is focused on delivering sleep disorder management services to employers in risk-adverse industries, including trucking, aviation, public transportation, rail, and any area where fatigue introduces risk to the operation.
FusionHealth® was founded in late 2005. The Company has decades of experience in the fields of sleep research, medical practice and sleep technologies. The Sleep Experts leading our company are our CEO, Sigurjon Kristjansson and our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jeffrey Durmer, MD, PhD.
Dr. Durmer is one of the nations top sleep medicine physicians. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (MD) and Biomedical Graduate Studies (PhD in Neuroscience). Mr. Kristjansson is one of the world’s leading experts on Sleep Diagnostics and Therapy technologies. Research is a strong component of FusionHealth®. Clinical trials have been performed with pharmaceutical companies, medical institutions and trucking fleets. FusionHealth® has developed and performed a groundbreaking clinical trial to determine the most effective and sustainable medical protocol to treat professional drivers with sleep apnea. The FusionHealth® research team also worked with academic colleagues to develop the first standardized diagnostic protocol for pediatric Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). FusionHealth’s researchers have also assisted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation, and many other nationally recognized industry collaborators. Dr. Durmer’s areas of research include Circadian Rhythms, RLS, systems neuroscience and sleep/wake function, the effects of sleep deprivation on cognitive performance, hypersomnias and many other areas of sleep medicine.
Dr. Durmer was appointed to the Medical Advisory Board of the National Restless Legs Foundation in 2006, and is a member of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.
